Stake Day of Service - St. Petersburg Stake

Day of Service - September 26th from 8:00 am to 11:30 am

All are invited to attend as an individual or as a family. There are two different service projects going on that day. Participants with children under 12 will be working at Clam Bayou. Those with children that are ages 12+ (youth) will be working at the Sanderlin Center.

**All participants will need to complete a release form (available at the event) that will be collected at the beginning of the project.

Clam Bayou - 34th Ave. S & 40th St. S St. Petersburg, an estuary between Gulfport, St. Pete, and Boca Ciega Bay. Tasks will include cleaning up by land and also by water and also working near the turbidity booms. Keep Pinellas Beautiful will have gloves and canoes. If you have a shovel, you may want to bring it in case it is needed. Children will need to be supervised since it is near bodies of water.

Sanderlin Center - 2335 2nd Ave S, St. Petersburg. Sanderlin programs are focused on education, family life, economic programs, cultural arts, health and employment. The project will be interior wall painting and landscaping projects (and possibly exterior work).

After the activity there will be a Carefest celebration for the volunteers - refreshments, music and recognition by the Mayor.

Helping Hands Challenge

Over the next 3 months, we are asking for your participation in our Helping Hands Challenge. This is a project inspired by the Stake and being implemented within each ward. We invite you to do some sort of service for a sister in the ward and write it on a cut out hand (from the RS presidency) so it can be added to our tree in the Relief Society room. Only list the service you do on the hand.

This shouldn’t be a calling or assignment that you already have been given. This is separate from your visiting teaching, but could be for those you visit. This special service could be anything you choose and it could be done in secret. Please pray and seek inspiration about who you can help. Listen and follow through with the promptings you receive from the Spirit. If you are not sure who best needs your service, we will have a jar with names of sisters in the ward you can choose from to help guide your thoughts.

We encourage you to fill out more than one helping hand so we can fill our entire tree!
